Wales and England
In Wales, new development with drainage implications needs approval from the council’s SuDS Approving Body before construction starts. Small works are exempt: a single dwelling, or other work, covering less than 100 square metres of land does not need it. Two or more dwellings do. For borderline cases, check with your council. We prepare the drainage design behind the application and the application itself.
In England, drainage requirements usually come through planning policy and the conditions on your permission. Tell us what the council has asked for and we will confirm what is needed.

How much does a SuDS report cost?
From £750 for an extension or single dwelling and from £1,495 for a minor development of up to 8 dwellings. A SAB application in Wales starts from £995 and foul and surface water drainage design from £795. All prices include VAT.

The application fee is £350 plus a charge based on construction area, and £168 per inspection. See the fee table under Questions we are asked.
